noreply-comment@blogger.com

Have you ever left a question in the comment section on someone else's blog and wondered why they never responded back to you? Most bloggers do respond to questions, you know. A lot of bloggers will respond even if you haven't left a question!

Well, your question may have been left out in the the cold because
you may be one of those dreaded

and you didn't even know it!!

I've been known to track people who have left me questions all the way back to their Etsy shops. They probably think I'm stalking them! But I would rather them think that than think I am not interested in answering their questions.

To check and see if you are a "NOREPLY", or if you know you are but don't know how to fix it, here is the simple way to go about getting this remedied.

NOTE: This is not an original tutorial. I know its been posted several times in blogland. But maybe the more bloggers that let you know how to do this, the more likely you are to fix it. It can be very frustrating to not be able to communicate with you!

STEP 1
 Go to your dashboard.
Not sure how to get there?
Click on the orange Blogger icon in the top left corner of your blog.
Click on Edit Profile.

STEP 2
Under Privacy, check the Show My Email Address box.

STEP 3
On the SAME PAGE, scroll down to the Identity section.
Enter the email address that you want to receive comment responses to.
IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS AS YOUR BLOGGER LOGON.

STEP 4
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit Save Profile.

That's it!!

So what do you think? Easy peasy?
Are you going to make sure you're not a "NOREPLY"?
I hope so!

Button Bib Necklace

In case you missed it over at Flamingo Toes, here's my project from my guest post!
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

This is what we are going to make today:
A button bib necklace!

This is a project I've had in the back of my mind for a long time. I'm so happy to have finally gotten a chance to put it together!

My main 2 supplies for this project were the shell buttons (1 pack) and some crochet thread.

Aren't the shell buttons beautiful?

And did I mention that I got them for half off? Even better!

Gorgeous, right?

Okay, okay... I'm done with the gratuitous button pictures. For now!

I love the texture of the of the crochet thread over plain sewing thread.

First things first, I grabbed a scrap piece of white felt and did a dry run arranging my buttons how I would want them on the necklace. I stacked some of the buttons for more dimension.

After deciding where I wanted the buttons to go, I started threading the crochet thread through them, adhering the thread to the back of the buttons with Fabri-Tac.

I started resetting up my necklace as I laced the thread through the buttons.

Eventually I had them all laid out and promptly adhered them to the felt with more Fabri-Tac.

Next up was trimming the felt so it wouldn't show on the front of my necklace.

I left two pieces of long felt in each corner so I will have something to work with when I attach the chain to the necklace.

I trimmed the excess felt so that it was skinny enough to slide a jump ring on it. Then I simply folded the felt back on itself and glued it down.

Attach the chain of your choice and...

Tada! Completed necklace!

I have to say I really love this necklace! It turned out even better than I had pictured it in my head.

The white crochet thread keeps it casual, which is what I was going for. You could easily add other colors of thread if you had a specific outfit in mind for this piece of jewelry. If you wanted to glam it up a bit, you could use similar colored thread or no thread at all.

Altered Lunch Box & Baby's 1st Year Album

First up, come visit me at
where I am guest posting and teaching you how to make this
Button Bib Necklace!

Okay, on with today's post!

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

I am a super lucky girl because I have many crafty friends. Not only does this mean our craftiness allows us to hang out together to perform said craftiness, but it also means they understand me and my crafty ways as I understand theirs. It also means they are a wealth of inspiration!

One other thing about my crafty friends... few of them have their own blogs so I get to show off their craftiness!! I told you I was a super lucky girl!

My good friend Amy, mother of the adorable little girl you can see at the end of this post, altered this lunch box for her daughter.

Cute, right?? Caroline's room is done up in pink and brown so this matches perfectly.

The back of the lunchbox reflects Caroline's birth date.

Inside of the lunchbox are all of the items little Caroline came home from the hospital with!

Such a fantastic keepsake!

Amy also made a homemade album to commemorate Caroline's first year.

For the inside of the album she printed a week-by-week calendar of Caroline's first year. Amy printed these sheets herself on 12x6 sheets of cardstock. In her daily planner she has been keeping notes on the various doings of Caroline so that she can go back and write them up in this album.

Caroline is one lucky girl to have a mom so forward thinking as to have already created so many special keepsakes for her to inherit one day!

Thank you, Amy, for letting me share your wonderful projects!!

T-Shirt Tuesday - Scrapbook Drama

Sometimes in the scrapbook world its just drama, drama, drama
Who made which design team?
Who said what about her layout?
Blah, blah, blah!

Believe it or not there are even blogs out there all about gossip in the scrapbook world.

Happy T-Shirt Tuesday!

Spooky Nights Mini Album

If you know me, you know I LOVE mini albums! I've preached on them in the past
(see this post), and swear by them.

Not only do I love to make them from scratch, but I love a good kit, too.

Enter the Spooky Nights kit from The Button Farm!

The Spooky Nights mini album is an accordian album inside of a tin can.

Attached to the inside of the tin is a page with two flaps. The top has the date 2008 on it, in honor of our son's 1st Halloween. I'll put a note here about his first Halloween and the experiences he had.

Inside the tin is the cover of the accordian album itself.

The accordian album contains 10 pages. My plan is put a photo best representing each Halloween on each page for the next 10 years. How that for extending the life of a mini album! By the time my son turns 10, I will have a great album to look back on.

The last page of the accordian album is adhered to the inside of the bottom of the tin.

I used my super trusty Beacon 3-in-1 adhesive to put the entire album together so I know it will never fall apart.

Like I said earlier, this was a kit, a what a kit!! Angela, who runs The Button Farm and puts these kits together, does an amazing job at putting instructions together for you to complete these intricate albums together all on your own.

Full page, detailed instructions with photos!

And like any great kit, there are TONS of leftovers!

I had the pleasure of taking a class from Scrap Queen Angela herself last year at the CKC Nashville convention. It was the first time my girlfriends and I ventured to take an intermediate class so we were a bit intimidated. Such a waste of worry! Angela was the most laid back teacher ever, and encouraged us to complete our albums the way we want, not just the way suggested by her (not that her way ended being the cutest anyway...).

Um, yeah, so that's me totally cheesing in my picture with Angela. She really does rock! She's holding the mini album we worked on during her class.

So, of course, when I got to her booth at the convention later I knew it would be completely worthwhile to purchase any of her albums. I was on a Halloween kick (I swear 2/3 of what I bought at that show was Halloween related!) so the Spooky Nights album was calling my name!

Some Crafty Inspiration

I promised on Sunday to share some crafty inspiration with you that I discovered all over the CKC scrapbook convention. Keep in mind that these projects are NOT just for scrapbookers! Just look and you'll see...   ;)

Let's start with some Halloween fun! This super cute banner actually came as a kit, but for $20 I'm pretty sure I could make several of these myself. And I plan on it!

These pumpkins were all blinged up! They looked to me like just your typical styrofoam pumpkin that had been spray painted. Then, of course, they were super bright with all that bling! This booth had bins and bins of bling for $.99 apiece. And you can bet I stocked up!

This is the top of the white pumpkin from the previous photo. I love the extra detail of the gold glitter across the top. This white and pearl pumpkin would look great as a decoration for a fall wedding!

I loved all of the elements of this scrapbook layout. From the glitzed up chipboard letters to the torn and worn paper around the photograph. But the best part of all is the flower. How gorgeous is that?

A close up of the flower. Its just stunning!

You may not have seen these if you are not a scrapbooker, but these are acrylic letters. There are also acrylic phrases (see the "Nana"?) and shapes. Often times it can be hard to figure out how to use these, but this booth had tons of examples and ideas.

This was a kit also, but sold out. I love the tabbed folders, and the cover is so simple but stylish. It would make a great flip photo album.

I loved this Grandma album! It was not sold as a kit as far as I could tell, but I analyzed it fairly well to figure out how to make my own. Basically the outside is two pieces of cardboard/chipboard bound together with a piece of heavy cardstock. I'm so making one of these!

And, finally, we have this super fun 12x12 paper holder expertly dressed up for your favorite Disney fan. I love how personalized it is. One of my girlfriends pointed out you could make one of these out of a shipping box... So keep an eye out on those boxes that arrive on your doorstep!

So, what did you think? Did you find any inspiration?

I know I did!
